festtime
It’s that time of year again. Live Arts + Fringe time.
I’ve been somewhat active..saw Jo Stromgren’s The European Lesson, Rotozaza’s Etiquette, Kathryn Tebordo’s in Flux piece “Awe” with Dorothea Lasky (the absolute highlight so far) and Sebastienne Mundheim’s Sea of Birds. I’ve been writing for the festival-some postings I’ve made are here: on Etiquette and on Sea of Birds.
I’ve slowed down a lot on posting…mostly because I’ve been trying to work, collect things for a portfolio, and general life runnings around. Now that school’s back in session I’m hoping to get back on the ball.

BLOOMSDAY blerg!
That’s right buddies!
It’s Bloomsday. The day in Philadelphia where we read the entirety of Ulysses throughout the day. Omigoshiamsoexcited. Look at this dude:

Swoon. No?
Well. At least I’ll be sitting outside the Rosenbach with my packed lunch listening and most likely drawing. I hope people don’t think I’m creepy. Whatever! You guys are the ones who have taken off work to get read to. I actually have off thanks to my bohemian lifestyle (made possible by Timothy Tebordo and our government. I will be bringing you lunch darling.)
Flash anticipation
Lynda Barry
Is so great. Just saw her speak for the second time at The Philadelphia Public Library (first time, Haverford College). She’s exists as on of the most anxious yet uninhibited beings I’ve met in sometime.

Some paintins from over the weekend

Some paintins from over the weekend

my favorite design is the opera based a few posts prior, but I liked the way the mountains look in this image. Low quality, figuring out the best way to optimize images for this dang internet.
William Strang
I’ve found William Strang. I’ve probably seen him a thousand times, but this portrait has caught my attention. Love the style. Next personal assignment: self portrait in this style. Pia also wants me to make her a shark-eating-her skirt. Love it.
An old standby
